Breaking News: National Cathedral (the most expensive HOLE in the world) commissioned

The Member of Parliament, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, flanked by Hon. Sam George and Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Officer of the NDC, have commissioned the National Cathedral (the most expensive HOLE in the world) in Accra.

The government promised to commission the National Cathedral today, March 6, but the project is still at the foundation level. Members of the opposition NDC and the MPs say they have done symbolic commissioning of the project.

The symbolic commissioning of the National Cathedral project was not without challenges, as military men detailed to protect the edifice blocked NDC MPs and officials from accessing the site of the National Cathedral.

According to the officers stationed at the site, they have been instructed to ensure no one enters the facility. When the MPs insisted on getting in, they refused them access. After heated arguments, the MPs requested to be granted the opportunity to stand at the entrance of the facility, which was also not granted; however, they commissioned the project as planned.

Today, March 6, 2024, is the official inauguration date for the delayed US$450 million National Cathedral of Ghana.

The National Cathedral has indeed become, embarrassingly, the world’s most expensive US$58 million abandoned ugly pit. It was once a very beautiful and iconic province, with the following notable structures that have all been senselessly demolished:

  1. Bungalows for Judges;
  2. Judicial Training Institute;
  3. Passport Head Office;
  4. Scholarship Secretariat;
  5. Bungalows for CHRAJ;
  6. Waterstone Realty Luxury Apartment Complex
  7. Headquarters of Comsys IT Firm;
  8. Malian Ambassador’s Residence.

Before the event, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa indicated that, although the edifice is not being constructed now, the members of the board of trustees are still being paid. He provided more details on the payments to the public at the commissioning.  Watch out for updates on this soon.
