You Have To Call GES’ 2023 School Placement Call Centre From Today To Resolve Your Problems. Do well to call after 9 am.
Some of the challenges and issues that have surfaced after the school placement was released are as follows.
- The inability of students/parents to check their placement due to the volume of traffic to the site. This made the site slow or irresponsive.
- The absence of schools in the database of the 2023 School placement portal for candidates who are to do self-placement. This meant those who have been given the opportunity to do the self-placement are unable to choose any school. There were no schools in the 16 regions as of yesterday, 15th February 2023.
- Some students failed in one or two subjects. These students obtained grade 9 in either Mathematics or English Language or both, However, most of them were not informed as to what their faith was. The GES had earlier disclosed that such candidates will not be placed in any school. They will also not have the opportunity to use the Self-Placement Module. At least there were 8000 of such students nationwide. What this implies is that such candidates will have to resit and pass the failed papers or opt for Private SHS/TVET or learn a trade through apprenticeship.
- Others want their schools, or accommodation (Day to Boarding) to be changed for them. The possibility of these being resolved is slim, but such students or their parents will have to call the GES call centres for a final determination, since there may be individual issues and differences.
