The Ministry of Education (MoE) is expected to release the 2023 School Placement for candidates who wrote the BECE in October 2022. The placements are projected to be released before the weekend. Candidates and parents will be able to check the school placement on the portal cssps.gov.gh  when it is officially out.

Candidates will need the placement checker card to do that. Those who were not automatically placed but have the Self Placement Option can use that to choose a school, accommodation, and programme online from the set of schools provided in the database.

What to do after checking the 2022/2023 school placement

In this section of the update, we will walk you through what to do after checking the 2023 school placement.

1. Print the 2022 BECE results slip if you have not printed it yet. If you have printed, run a few copies. At least three additional copies.

2. Print the 2023 school placement and enrolment forms. These are available online when you check the placement. One contains the raw scores you obtained, and the other is the form you will fill out for enrolment in your school. Do well to make two copies each.

3. Put the three documents printed (Results slip, 2023 School Placement, School Enrolment) in a brown envelope or my clear bag so that you do not lose any of them.

4. Get a maximum of 4 passport-size photographs.

5. Go to your JHS head teacher in your school and help complete the enrolment form. Parents and other adult members of the family are advised to lead this process. Do not leave it in the hands of the students.

The headmaster or mistress of the school will cross-check the form, sign and stamp relevant portions, including the back of the passport-size photographs. Do well to go through the form you have filled out to check for errors. We advise that the form is first filled with a pencil. Once everything is correct, take your time and use a pen to complete it neatly.

6. Go to the Senior High School you have been placed through the automatic or self-placement with the documents you have secured in your brown envelope.

7. When you arrive at the school, you may look out for the school notice board and check if your name is on the school’s notice board.

8. Join the queue of those in the school to see the head of the school for their enrolment. Meet the head when it is your turn to start the process.
