COLA strike over, GES orders all staff to return to work

GES orders all staff to return to work after the successful completion of the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) negotiations.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed all teaching and non-teaching staff to return to work on Monday 18th July 2022 to continue with the performance of their duties.
The directive which was posted on the official Facebook page of the GES further called on all Regional and District Directors of Education to ensure both teaching and non-teaching staff of the Service return to school.
This directive comes after the successful completion of negotiations on the Cost of Living Allowance (COAL) following the 10 days of strike by education workers at the pre-tertiary level.

Management has taken note of the successful completion of negotiations between GoG and Organized Labour on the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) leading to the call-off of the strike by the Pre-Tertiary Education workers Union.
Management, therefore, informs all Regional and District Directors of Education to ensure both teaching and non-teaching staff of the Service return to school on Monday 18th July 2022 to start full academic work.
The negotiations ended with a 15% COLA which is to be paid effective 1st July 2022 on employees’ base pay.
