Debbie Larry-Izamoje, the current Chief Operating Officer of Brila Media Limited will be joining at Her Summit 2023.
Debbie is a Harvard-certified charismatic leader who successfully oversaw the rebranding of Nigeria’s first sports radio station, Brila FM into Brila Media and is passionately focused on sustaining and improving the company’s legacy.
Currently, Debbie leads a vibrant team of sports media junkies that are on a mission to transform the sports media landscape in Africa through storytelling, up-to-date digital strategies, stakeholder management, and innovative systems.
Debbie previously worked with the Management Committee of the Nigeria Women Football League, headed by Aisha Falode as a digital communications strategist and was crucial to the NWFL’s identity rebrand in the year 2020. She also played a similar role in the management team of the Aisha Buhari Invitational tournament in 2021.
Debbie holds a B.Sc in Information Management from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom and an M.Sc. in Management from University College London (UCL). She also holds certificates in Innovation and Strategy from Harvard University and user innovation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Ireayomide Oladunjoye , the Managing Director & CEO of Endeavor Nigeria will be joining us at Her Summit 2023
In her role, she leverages her years of private and public sector working experience to support entrepreneurs in various life cycle stages with interventions and resources that enable them to scale their businesses and create societal behavioral change. She previously led the Startups Unit (Lagos Innovates) at Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), where she was responsible for developing and implementing a slate of government-led programs to enable the tech ecosystem in the State.
Ms. Oladunjoye is a trained Engineer from the City University London and completed the Women’s leadership program at Oxford University’s Said Business School.
Odiri Erewa-Meggison, a dynamic and accomplished professional renowned for her comprehensive expertise in external relations, corporate communications, and stakeholder engagement will be joining our stellar speaker lineup at Her Summit 2023.
She currently serves as the External Affairs Director at BAT, West & Central Africa where she is responsible for driving BAT’s external affairs and communications strategy in the region.
With a background in law and as a chartered secretary, Odiri joined BAT Nigeria in July 2006 and quickly rose through the ranks, holding various positions within the Legal unit. Following the merger of Legal and External Affairs, she served as the Head of Government Affairs, West Africa Area (WAA) from 2015 to 2017, and subsequently as the Head of Legal from 2017 to 2018.
Her career has taken her to different parts of the world, including an expatriate assignment to Indonesia in the Asia Pacific Region, where she served as Head of Marketing, Legal, and later as Senior Regulatory Special Projects Manager. She was also seconded to the Americas and Sub Sahara Region as a Senior Regional External Engagement and Campaign Manager before returning to Nigeria to assume her current leadership position in West and Central Africa.
Odiri holds a Master’s degree with Honors in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury, England, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Buckingham. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, an associate in the Nigeria Institute of Directors, and currently serves as the Acting Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Export Promotion Group (MANEG).
With her extensive experience, expertise in external affairs & commitment to the growth of the manufacturing industry, Odiri is a driving force and brings immense value to organizations seeking to optimize operations, drive growth & forge impactful partnerships.
Stephanie Busari, CNN’s renowned Senior Editor for Africa, who has contributed significantly to journalism for more than 20 years, will join our stellar speaker lineup at Her Summit in September!
As a pioneer and head of CNN’s first digital and multiplatform bureau, Stephanie has been at the forefront of shaping the network’s digital and operational strategies for Africa.
Her expertise extends to on-air reporting for CNN International, and her work as an instrumental part of the team that received two Emmy award nominations for the network’s investigation into the Lekki Tollgate shooting highlights her dedication to impactful journalism.
Passionate about reshaping African storytelling, Stephanie plays a pivotal role in crafting a new narrative for the continent. She actively works towards empowering the next generation of African storytellers and highlighting the accomplishments and innovations of African changemakers.
With over 20 years of experience, Stephanie has garnered numerous awards. She is notable for obtaining an exclusive ‘proof of life’ video in April 2016, that showed that the missing Nigerian Chibok schoolgirls were still alive, which ultimately led to the release of over 100 missing schoolgirls. Her relentless pursuit of this story earned her a Gracie Award and recognition as an Outstanding Woman in the Media.
Beyond her editorial prowess, Stephanie is a captivating public speaker and has been invited to share her insights and moderate panels at prestigious events such as TEDGlobal, UN Women, and Said Business School, Oxford.
As the founder of TEDx Brixton, she has demonstrated her commitment to fostering intellectual exchange and spreading impactful ideas.
Stephanie’s tireless dedication to journalism, advocacy for African storytelling, and impressive accolades solidify her position as a highly influential and respected figure in the industry. Her work continues to inspire and drive positive change on the African continent and beyond.
Ibijoke Faborode, a tri-sector leader with over 13 years of work in Africa and Europe will be joining our outstanding speaker lineup at Her Summit in September!
Ibijoke’s work spans gender & development, research & public policy advisory, trade & investment facilitation, high-level government relations, strategic communications, and non-profit management. She is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Elect Her, an organization advancing the inclusion of women in economic and public life, through research & policy innovation, behavioral change communications, community building, capacity development, tech innovation, and resource mobilization.
Prior to this, she worked as the Head of Future Opportunities and later as Head of Agritech & Healthcare Advisory West Africa for the Department of International Trade, UK Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO); she also served as Regional Business Development Lead- East & West Africa, for The Africa Report.
Through Elect Her, she has led the design and delivery of several targeted interventions aimed at strengthening women’s inclusion in public life in Nigeria, including crowdfunding and mobilizing other resources for female candidates to run for elective office in the Nigeria 2023 elections.
Amongst other recognitions, Ibijoke is a BBC 100women 2022 honoree, currently serves as a Global Leadership Council Board Member at the Democracy and Culture Foundation, and a 2020 Her Network Woman of the Year Honoree.
