Disturbing Video of Adanwomase SHS boys inappropriately touching female students at Baba Yara Sports Stadium Trends Like Wild Fire stands

A disturbing video of Adanwomase SHS boys inappropriately touching female students at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium has come to the attention of the Ghana Education News Portal.

The video, which has trended widely on X and other social media platforms, has caused widespread concern as Ghanaians once again question the level of discipline in our schools and the kind of guidance parents are providing for these students at home.

In the video, the Adanwomase SHS boys can be seen blocking the path that the girls were using to move from one end of the stands to the other. They left only a narrow passage through which the female students had to maneuver. This narrow passage became the opportunity for the students’ irresponsible behavior to flourish. They seemed careless of their actions and even recorded video footage of their inappropriate adolescent behavior.

The video of Adanwomase SHS boys inappropriately touching female students at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium strongly suggests that their actions were planned.

The Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection in Ghana, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, and her ministry must work hand-in-hand with the Ministry of Education to identify these students and ensure they are corrected, serving as a deterrent for such acts of indiscipline and molestation of female students at school sports and social gatherings.

The widespread outrage over this disturbing incident, captured on camera at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium during the recent inter-school games in Kumasi, must not go unpunished. The video showed some students of Adanwomase Senior High School inappropriately touching female students in the stands. Such behavior must be curtailed, and this video evidence provides a valuable opportunity for the Ministry of Education to act.

The headteacher and management of Adanwomase SHS must also take action to help ensure these students are corrected and the necessary punitive measures and rules are applied.
