Ghana Education News | Don’t be discouraged by Rescheduled WASSCE 2021 Papers – OLAMS SHS to candidates as they wait for rescheduled dates and times.
In wake of the rescheduled WASSCE 2021 papers, the Headmistress of the Our Lady of Mercy Senior High School (OLAMS), Mrs. Janet Bour-Donkor has advised candidates writing the examination in her school not to be discouraged.
The rescheduled WASSCE 2021 papers will be written later however, the examining body is yet to announce the new dates
“They should not be discouraged, it happens and nobody knows the cause, so they should stay focused and prepare for the next papers and make sure they pass their exams successfully,” she stated.
She mentioned that this year’s exam preparations went well, and she didn’t expect anything unethical to happen.
She said that students had been cooperative from the commencement of the practical till the major examination began on September 13th, 2021 and that there had been a calm examination atmosphere.
The headmistress told the press in Tema that all the arrangements had been completed and students had reported to write Physics and Business Management in the morning only to be informed of the rescheduled WASSCE 2021 papers by WAEC.

Mrs. Bour-Donkor recalled that they had to wait because several invigilators had gone to the WAEC depot to pick up the papers but had not returned on time. When she contacted to find out what was going on, she was told that the code to the room had not been issued.
She said that when the candidates found out, they had a range of emotions, from excitement to sadness.
It’s possible the scenario has psychological effects on the applicants, according to Assistant Headteacher Adams Baafa.
“for the person who is very prepared and thinks he’s going to write the paper just to be told that the paper isn’t coming on, he might be worried, while somebody might also not be prepared at all and be thanking his stars that the paper has been canceled or postponed”.
