The Minister emphasized the need for schools to strengthen inspections to prevent students from sending prohibited items such as dangerous weapons and drugs.
He also proposed solutions to tackle issues affecting education delivery which include inadequate non-teaching personnel, issues with the double-track system and unpaid financial obligations from previous governments.
Hon Haruna Iddrisu indicated government’s commitment to treating education issues as national emergencies and soliciited stakeholders support to work together to improve education delivery in Ghana.
Professor Ernest Kofi Davis was introduced as the new Ag. Director-General of Education, along with his deputies, Prof. Smile Gavua Dzisi and Dr. Manawaru Issahaque to all present by the Minister.
CHASS members expressed concerns over inadequate resources, external influences and unfair sanctions.
The GES management acknowledged these issues and assured a fair hearing process.
The meeting aimed to foster collaboration and find lasting solutions to challenges facing senior high schools.
