Nursing Training Allowance Beneficiaries To Refund The Allowance or Suffer For It?
Latest News Update for Nursing Training Students: Nursing Training Allowance Beneficiaries To Refund The Allowance or Suffer For It?
For the first time under H.E President Nana Akuffo-Addo, nursing students who completed school the same year would be divided into two during their recruitment. Coincidentally, this batch of nursing students are the first batch to enjoy the re-instated nursing training allowance.
In a recently released financial clearance for the recruitment of nursing training students who completed school in 2019, trainees who re-wrote any referred paper and duly passed, proceeded to undertake their national service just as their colleagues were left out of the finance clearance.
Interestingly, since the current Government took over power, this is the first time nursing trainees of the same year batch would witness some students being recruited before others. This batch coincidentally is the very first batch to enjoy trainee allowance under this government when they were in the second year in the year 2017.

This current development is now raising questions as to whether this recruitment process is an attempt to recoup the allowances paid to the trainees through unpaid salaries. What could be a worry to the government is that, if all the trainees of the same year batch are not recruited as one, it could negate whatever positive rating the government got or could get.
