Eyewitnesses say initial efforts by the Ghana National Fire Service to douse it did not yield the desired results as they ran out of water in the process.
They, however, added that more vehicles from the Fire Service arrived at the scene to try and quench the raging fire.
No casualty has yet been recorded.
Some personnel are still at the scene doing their best to halt the blaze.

Reports stated that fire tenders were seen battling the fire despite exhausting several tanks of water to salvage the situation.
Affected traders were captured carrying headpans of water in effort to douse the fire themselves because the firefighters had run out of water.
Other vendors stood by helpless as their wares burned on, waiting for the appropriate time to count their losses.
