GES holds maiden Ghana History Festival

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has successfully organised the maiden edition of the Ghana History Festival 2025, a colourful celebration of the nation’s history, heritage, and culture. The festival took place on Tuesday, 30th September 2025 at the historic Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra, under the theme: “Kwame Nkrumah’s Legacy – Igniting National Consciousness through History.”
The event was graced by . , Deputy Director-General (MS) of the Ghana Education Service, whose presence inspired learners, educators, and stakeholders gathered at the park. The Accra Mayor, Hon. Allotey, was also fully represented and shared his blessings.
The festival commenced with a led by Bishop Mixed and Bishop Girls’ schools, setting the tone for a day of patriotism and reflection. Learners from Bishop Girls’ Basic School, Accra Metro, delighted the audience with captivating cultural displays, while pupils from the Ministry of Health KG, Korle-Bu, brought history to life through dramatic re-enactments of The Big Six, the CPP Movement, and Steps to Freedom.
A highlight of the programme was a moving presentation by & , , which depicted Ghana’s political journey through the various Heads of State and Presidents since independence. The atmosphere was further enlivened by stirring band performances from ’ and , , whose music evoked deep national pride.
