GES Postpones SHS3 reopening to 28th May: Facts Checked

GES Postpones SHS3 reopening to 28th May: Facts Checked:
Ghana’s Education Service (GES) following a report that SHS 3 reopening date has proactively been rescheduled to May 28, 2021, has said the school reopening date for the final year SHS students still remains May 5, 2021.
The Education Service postponed the reopening date from April to May 5, 2021, to enable students preparing for the forthcoming 2021 WASSCE to achieve the 1,080 instructional hours needed to complete their syllabus.
It in a statement copied to Educationweb.com.gh indicated the final year students when returned to school on the May 5 reopening date will be in school to continue academic activities until they sit for the 2021 WASSCE.
But, some online news portals have reported the Service for the second time has postponed the SHS 3 reopening date to May 28, 2021, a claim the Management of the Ghana Education Service has described as false.
“This is fake, the SHS 3 re-opening has not been postponed again. Please disregard this information. Reopening remains 5th May 2021,” it stated.
