The Ghana Education Service has directed that its offices across the country should rationalize staff on a rotational basis. It called on staff who intend to go on annual leave to also do so now to ensure. The directive is aimed at ensuring operational activities at the various offices are cut down and only important services are performed to help minimize the potential spread of covid-19; keep staff safe as well.
The directive further called for the suspension of programs that will require staff of the education service to physically converge at a central location.

The management of the service hopes these directives will be adhered to at all levels of authority in a manner that will safeguard the health and life of its staff across the country, while critical functions are carried out for the effective running of the service.
“It is the expectation of Management of GES that these directives would be implemented in such a manner to protect the health and safety of staff and at the same time ensure the continuous performance of the critical functions of the Service” the letter added.
