An elderly ride-hailing driver in Ghana, who is 56 years old, has spoken up about his dissatisfaction with the current economic situation and the leadership of the country’s New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The driver, Samuel K. Armah, claimed to have been an NPP follower for many years, but now he feels deserted and betrayed by his electoral party. If he is to be believed, the country will never improve. In this country, nothing would improve; everything would just keep getting worse. Whoever says Ghana is better until the kingdom arrives is mistaken. “Our leaders aren’t mentally healthy,” he said.

When asked about his efforts leading up to the 2012 general election, Armah reflected on things like carefully watching vote boxes to guarantee the NPP’s victory. Even with all of his attempts, he still doesn’t think things have improved much since then.

“Even though I have my NPP membership card on hand, I intend to vote against them in the upcoming election. Mahama is an option, if nothing else. Knowing the devil is preferable to knowing an angel. “Akufo-Addo was the angel, and Mahama was the devil,” he continued.
Because of all the trouble he’s had, Samuel Armah says he would have rather become a driver in another nation.

“Why is it that being a president or minister automatically makes you wealthy? Even now, at 56 years old, I long to depart from this nation. I am now thinking of a country. Like I am doing here, I have a friend in that country, so I will go there to drive. He asked, “If I am going through this right now, what about my kids?” to illustrate that he wasn’t concerned with his own well-being,” he said.
