Accra, Ghana – June 25, 2025 – The Government of Ghana, through the Ghana Education Service (GES), has disbursed over GH₵8 million as a feeding grant to Special Needs Schools across the country. The announcement was made in a press release issued today, June 25, 2025.
The press release, titled “GOVERNMENT PAYS FEEDING GRANT OF SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOLS,” detailed the allocation and underscored the government’s dedication to inclusive education and the welfare of learners with special needs.
“The Government of Ghana has released a feeding grant of GH₵8,989,866.00 for Special Needs Schools across the country,” the statement confirmed.
This significant disbursement demonstrates the government’s continued commitment to ensuring that learners with special needs receive the necessary support to thrive.

The Management of the GES also took the opportunity to commend the resilience of educators and students in the special education sector. “The Management of GES acknowledges and appreciates the patience, resilience, and dedication of all heads, staff, and learners of Special Schools.”
Signed by Mr. Daniel Fenyi, Head of the Public Relations Unit, the release concluded by affirming the GES’s broader vision. “GES remains committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure equitable and quality education for every learner, regardless of ability.”
