Good News: Government to Pay Teachers Nationwide GH¢62million Intervention Grants
The Ghanaian government has approved GH62 million to pay intervention grants to Senior High School (SHS) teachers all over the country.
This incentive is intended to motivate and encourage teachers to provide after-school tutoring to all SHS students, as well as improve the standard of education offered at SHSs in Ghana. The government is committed to finding solutions to every problem affecting SHS nationwide, according to Kwasi Kwarteng, the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer.
One of the challenges faced by the government is the existing infrastructural shortfall in schools due to rising enrollment. However, Kwarteng claims that this problem is exacerbated by schools falsely declaring that they have empty buildings. He wonders why schools would declare that they can take, for instance, 500 boarding students while there are no spaces or beds for them.
The government’s commitment to improving and sustaining quality education in Ghana is reflected in the allocation of funds for intervention grants. This financial aid is expected to boost the morale of SHS teachers and encourage them to provide additional academic support to their students, resulting in a better overall standard of education.
The Ministry’s Public Relations Officer emphasized that the government takes full responsibility for resolving any challenges facing SHSs in Ghana. He reassured Ghanaians that the government is dedicated to ensuring smooth, timely, and efficient resource distribution in its quest to improve and sustain quality education in the country.
The allocation of GH62 million to pay intervention grants to SHS teachers in Ghana are a positive step towards improving the quality of education in the country.
The government’s commitment to finding solutions to the challenges facing SHSs is commendable, and its dedication to ensuring smooth, timely, and efficient resource distribution is reassuring.
It is hoped that these measures will lead to an improvement in the standard of education offered in SHSs, resulting in better outcomes for students and the country as a whole.
