Google Education Programs and Apps and how they support educators

Google Apps for Education (GAFE)

Google Apps for Education lets students and teachers access the tools they need to create and collaborate, share and communicate, invent and innovate—using the technology they have.

With GAFE, students have access to apps like Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Sites, and more than 50 other tools for their academics.

Teachers can use GAFE to create and manage assignments and class schedules, assign grades, and communicate with other faculty members.

And, with G Suite for Education, schools can manage the services their students use and set policies for their use.

GAFE is used by over 50 million students and teachers in 180 countries.

Classroom

Classroom is a central hub to help educators transform their classrooms into digital learning environments. It’s a place for teachers to post content, assign and collect assignments, communicate with students, and collaborate with other teachers.

Classroom also helps students stay organized by creating a digital portfolio where they can store their work and turn in assignments.

Teachers can also give feedback and provide timely responses to students’ work.

Education Working Group (EWG)

The Education Working Group is a team dedicated to helping students and teachers use technology to create meaningful and lasting change in the world around them. The EWG works to support teachers’ efforts to give every student a fair shot at success, increase access to computer science education, and promote youth civic engagement. Through partnerships with nonprofits and other organizations, the EWG’s efforts have reached millions of people globally.

Helping High Schools Achieve New Digital Literacy Standards Initiative (HI NDLS)

Google’s initiative to help high schools around the world achieve new digital literacy standards. Participating schools and their students are enrolled in an online course where they receive tools and resources to help them thrive in the digital age.
