Ghana Education News | Headmaster who flogged student suspended indefinitely.
The Headmaster, Mr. Francis Donkor, of the Jachie-Pramso Senior High School (SHS) who flogged the student has been suspended indefinitely by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
His alleged flogging of the 19-year-old female Arts Student, Mary Amoako went viral with pictures of the aftermath of his action.
As shown in a video that is making its rounds on social media, the student appears to have been severely battered with lacerations on her back.
At a recent interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi, Mr. Prince Agyemang-Duah, District Director of Education for Bosomtwe District, said the Headmaster’s suspension began on September 7, 2018.
As he described it, Mr. Donkor had been given a formal letter to hand over until an investigation into his alleged actions could be conducted by the Regional Directorate of Education.
When the GES learned of the incident, Mr. Agyemang-Duah stated it was because she allegedly donated her jacket to a male classmate who was being punished by the Headmaster for not wearing the school uniform.
