If a loan providing company keeps sending you text messages that apply for a loan as a government worker and you want to prevent them from sending such messages, what do you do?
According to the MTN customer service officer to stop such messages
Go to messages to create a new text message.
Type the word BLOCK
The word should be typed in caps BLOCK and also type the name or shortcode sending you the message as it is in the text message.
Forward this message to 1309
For example, this is a text message from a loan company
Send is: PawaLoans
Message: Get a loan in 24 hours are a government worker paid through the controller and accountant general.
In this instance, the Company name is PawaLoans.
The text message to be sent to 1309 is BLOCK PawaLoans
Another example.
Sender code: 1256
Message: We grant loans up to GHS100,000 and you pay over 5-year period. All government workers whose salaries pass through CAGD are treated special. Apply now.
In this instance, the code sending the message is 1256
The text message to be sent to 1309 is BLOCK 1256
