Just in case you are not aware, effective 1st July, the Bank of Ghana requires that all banks accept only the Ghana Card as a means of identification and so all financial institutions are working to update the records of their clients like you.
To ensure customers link their ECOBANK Accounts effectively, banks have devised innovative ways to ensure they do not leave any customers behind.
The ECOBANK Account linking to Ghana Card No starts with the bank sending you a text message. However, before you start updating your details as a customer, ensure that you have taken a clear picture of the front and back sides of the Ghana Card since you will be required to upload them.

STEP 1: Receive a message with your code from ECOBANK The message is as follows: “Dear Customer, Ghana Card will be the only ID for financial transactions from July 1, 2022. Visit the Ecobank website to update your records, using your Ghana Card. Your code is PGSIRN.
Step 2: Upon receiving this message, visit https://ecobank.com/gh/personal-banking and click on [UPDATE GHANA CARD] or Go straight to https://myghanacardupdate.ecobank.com/portal/
Step 3: Enter your Account Name and Account number accurately
Step 4: Input your Ghana card by typing the numbers that follow the GHS-
Step 5: Enter phone number, email, and confirmation code [The confirmation code is the code that was sent through the text message you received.
Step 6. Click on the front view of the Ghana Card on the registration portal to upload the picture you took of it.
Step 7. Click on the back view of the Ghana card on the portal to upload the picture of it which you took.
Step 8: Take a face-only selfie 🤳
Step 9: Cross-check all the data you have input and be sure they are correct.
Step 10: Click SUBMIT to complete the process.
Congratulations, you have successfully linked your Ecobank Account to your Ghana Card.
