How to renew NHIS card and enjoy active status with Momo

There is good news for all NHIS members as NHIA declares December 2022 an active month for all Ghanaians. This means you can renew your NHIS card and enjoy instant active status.

As part of efforts by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA)’s to help all members enjoy the full benefit of having the NHIS card, it has introduced a new how-to renew the NHIS card which allows you to enjoy instant activate status. This means members with inactive NHIS cards can renew their cards and instantly use t at any health facility.

The closing date for taking advantage of this is 31st December 2022. Inactive NHIS cardholders as well as those whose cards will be expiring soon can take full advantage of this.

Irrespective of how long ago your card expired, you can now become an active NHIS member today and get the chance to use your NHIS card instantly.

How to renew your NHIS card and enjoy instant active status: Dec 31st is the Closing date

Steps to check the validity of your NHIS Membership. This will help you know if your (card is Active or Inactive)
  1.  Dial *929# to start.
  2. Choose option 1 to Check Policy Validity
  3. Next, Select the Card Type which in this case is (NHIS CARD)
  4. Enter the NHIS Membership Card which is located on the front page of your NHIS card (MEMBERSHIP NO.)
  5. Re-enter the MEMBERSHIP NO and click send.
  6. If your card is active, you may not need to renew, but there is no harm in trying.

Steps to renew your NHIS Membership and enjoy instant Active Card Status

  1. Dial *929#

  2. Select Option 2, and send

  3. Select NHIS Card, option 1, and send

  4. Enter the 8 Digit Membership Number, and send

  5. Choose 1 – (Continue to pay), and send

  6. Follow the instruction for payment.

  7. After making the payment, go through the Steps to check the validity of your NHIS Membership. This will help you know if your card is now Active.

When you are successful with the reactivation you will receive a confirmation message which reads “Hi YOUR NAME COMES HERE, Your NHIS Renewal for Card# [CARD NUMBER HERE) with MOMO TRX#, 208462343333 was SUCCESSFUL.”
