Kuami Eugene is one of the youngest musicians in Ghana. As a result of his good works in the music industry, Kuami Eugene has been crowned as the artist of the year in the Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) over the past last 4 editions. The news trending this day is about Kuami Eugene and Amekye Dede. People are talking about how Amakye Dede spoke about Kuami Eugene after crowning him as the youngest high-life artist in Ghana after all the legends are gone. That is, Kumai Eugene is one of the vibrant youth in the music industry who is making much effort to revive high-life music.
Over the months, Amakye Dede openly declared that he was forced to crown Kuami Eugene as the best youngest musician in high-life music. Ever since Amakye Dede made that statement, Kuami Eugene never spoke a word until recently. In an interview with Kwadwo Sheldon, Kuami Eugene made it clear that he was very much surprised that he heard those words coming out from Amakye Dede. He added that he respected Amekye Dede so much that they did a lot of things together, and he will continue to love and respect him despite those words from Amekye Dede addressed to him in the public space.
” I heard what was said by Amekye Dede on the issue of him crowning me one of the best High-life musicians who are coming up in the music industry. Honestly, I was very hurt by his words, but I still love him. I do not know what goes behind the scenes before he crowned me. I have been to London with Amekye Dede and I played a show for him without charging a fee or taking money. We even came to Ghana and at his hotel, I ate fufu with him, which was served by his wife. At the grounds of the hotel, I played a show for him free of charge”. – Kuami Eugene stated.
