January 2025 Private WASSCE Timetable and Recommended Books for English and Literature

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released the January 2025 Private WASSCE Timetable and Recommended Books for English and Literature.

The released materials are to serve as a guide for students who intend to write the first-ever series for private candidates in Ghana.

While the registration ends on January 8th, 2025, the examination starts on January 25th, 2025.

LIST OF PRESCRIBED TEXTS FOR THE WEST AFRICAN SENIOR SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (WASSCE) ENGLISH LANGUAGE (CORE) (SCHOOL AND PRIVATE, 2022-2026).

1. PROSE
One (1) of the following texts shall be studied:
(i) Robert Louis Stevenson: Treasure Island
(ii) MamleWolo: The Kaya Girl

2. DRAMA
One (1) of the following texts shall be studied:
(i) Henrik Ibsen: An Enemy of the People
(ii) Bill Marshall: The Son of Umbele
