Job Description

• The person shall oversee the implementation of all internal control measures of the Bank to ensure that practices and operational policies are in compliance
• The person shall assess the internal control measures of the Bank and make recommendations to tighten them
• The person shall be tasked with the independent testing of the Bank’s compliance Programme
• The person shall ensure staff adherence to all operational policies and procedures of the Bank
• The person shall report to the Board through the Audit and Finance sub-committee
• The person shall oversee the work of the systems auditor
• The person review budget of the Bank
• The person shall be the liaison officer between the Bank and External auditors
• Any other responsibility as may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

Qualification Required & Experience

• Minimum of First Degree in Accounting and/or acceptable professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, ACIB etc. Master’s Degree in Banking, Finance or Accounting with experience in auditing in a financial institution would be desirable
• Minimum of 5 years working experience in similar position in the rural bank industry

Required Skills / Attributes

• Must have good knowledge about the Bank’s core Banking software
• Must have good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
• Must possess good planning, quantitative and analytical skills
• Must possess strong computer literacy skills
• Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Must be able to manage classified information

  • Uphold and enforce such standards by the disciplinary powers conferred upon it by this Decree;
  • Be responsible for the keeping of registers of duly qualified practitioners
