Guinness World Record, GWR disqualifies Chef Faila’s 227 hours, 0 minutes, and 2 seconds cook-a-thon. Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon has been officially disqualified by Guinness World Record as at March 3rd 2024.
Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon lasted an incredible 227 hours, 0 minutes, and 2 seconds, significantly exceeding the previous 119-hour record set by Irish chef Alan Fisher. Her accomplishment drew worldwide attention, with celebrities, leaders, and other Ghanaians rallying behind her. Vice-President Bawumia himself encouraged her as she stretched culinary boundaries.
As Chef Faila basked in her accomplishment, the world eagerly awaited formal certification from Guinness globe Records. Her record-breaking attempt was loaded with wonderful memories, and many people expected her to earn her position in the respected record books. However, a cloud of uncertainty hung over her accomplishment.
Ghanaians on the internet expressed concern because Chef Faila’s reference ID could not be discovered on GWR’s official website. Furthermore, there was no official confirmation from GWR that she had authorization to participate in the cook-a-thon attempt. Speculation spread quickly, leaving supporters concerned and expecting an official statement.
In an official statement released, and sighted by Ghanaeducation.org, it stated the final verdict from Guinness World Record regarding Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon which happened in Tamale.

I am proud of the dedication and hard work put forth, and I am committed to continuing to push boundaries in the culinary world”
As of now, Chef Alan Fisher holds the record.
