Okomfuo Kyei, whose real name is Nana Yaw Kyei, was chosen as the new Chairman of the National Democratic Congress in the Ashanti Region’s Adansi Asokwa constituency.
The Ghana News Agency said that the new chairman beat out the current chairman, Godwin Anumley Dogodzi, with 436 votes to 285 votes.
After he was confirmed, the report said, Nana Kyei promised to work hard to win the constituency seat for the NDC in the general elections of 2024.
He also asked everyone at the party to work together on the task at hand. He said that it would take unity and determination to take power back from the New Patriotic Party, which was in charge at the time (NPP).
Joseph Ankomah was chosen to be vice chairman, Lawrence Osei Adarkwa was chosen to be secretary, Amidu Raman Razark was chosen to be assistant secretary, and Kwabena Ebo was chosen to be the organizer.
