JUST IN: Ministry Of Education Finally Issues Good News Statement -See Statement

The government said that it has given money to feed the country to the National Food Buffer Stock Company and all the senior high and TVET schools.

In a statement, the government said that GH126,000,000 had been given to the National Food Buffer Stock Company for non-perishable food items.

A total of GH72,106,603 were sent to senior high and TVET schools across the country to pay for food that goes bad quickly and costs that keep coming up.

The money has been given out over the last four weeks, the statement said.

Therefore, the public can be sure that the Ministry will do its best to make sure that all second-cycle institutions get enough good food on time, the statement said.

“The Ministry also says again that it is committed to making sure that other resources are distributed smoothly and effectively as part of its plan to improve and keep up the quality of education in Ghana.”

The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools had been upset that the money for feeding had not been given out quickly enough.

It also said that many food suppliers had threatened to stop supplying food, and some had already done so because they hadn’t been paid.

Some school heads even said they were going to close their schools because of these food problems.
