An early morning sad story coming in is that a man has been found dead in his car on Abeka-Lapaz Road. An eyewitness, John Kwasivi, who took a video of the incident, has revealed how it all happened.
Speaking in an interview with UTV, he revealed that there was huge traffic on the Abeka-Lapaz Road, and shortly after the traffic light turned green, the specific car the deceased was driving failed to move.
Tooting of the horns by cars waiting behind him yielded no results after several minutes, which compelled people around the location to draw closer to the car. It was then that they found out what was happening.
The driver, who was the only passenger in the vehicle, was found motionless with the central locking system activated inside the car. This made access to him difficult.
John Kwasivi, the eyewitness, said he was compelled to take the video footage of the incident for security reasons when he was interviewed. According to him, upon arriving at Lapaz to join a Trotor bus to Carprise, we noticed there was a white Elantra surrounded by people. The driver was not moving his car; hence, when the traffic turned green, other drivers and people mobbed the car and asked him to move.
They realized he was dead. The people managed to break the passenger section of the screen to rescue him, but it was confirmed that the driver was dead. The Ghana police at the traffic section of the road were informed, and the body was transported to the Lapaz community clinic, where he was officially pronounced dead.
Kwasivi followed the car after it was towed from the road to where it was parked to ensure no one stole it, especially when it was yet to be registered. It is believed that the man was probably heading towards the DVLA on the Kasoa road to complete documentation of the gift when he died.
John Kwasivi added that he decided to video the incident since no one was doing that, and he was worried that the car may go missing since it was a new car without a number plate. He then called a car dealer’s number, who revealed the man bought the car from him on Friday as a gift for his daughter.

Through this call, the car dealer was also able to call the family of the man who rushed to the Lapaz Community Clinic and confirm their beloved was no more.
