A Mother blocks son’s admission to PRESEC-Legon over her newfound faith, which kicks against education. Is this brainwashing or witchcraft?
According to reports, a mother from Tema has rejected her son’s application to PRESEC-Legon, the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School.
The youngster, now known as Evans, is one of the top students in Tema Municipality, but his mother has banned him from attending school on the grounds that her new religion forbids education.
Evans’ predicament was brought to the attention of Kofi Asare, the executive director of Education Watch, through his Facebook page.
Mr. Asare elaborated that, in order to make the process go more smoothly, Evans’s junior high school teachers had already bought everything on the prospectus, but his mother was adamant.
You will be blocked the moment you try to persuade her. Through my several personas, I am able to communicate with her. A place dubbed “God’s Kingdom at Last” is supposedly where she often attends services. On Facebook, I noticed that the leader was a dashing young guy. He expressed his difficulty in contacting the church leader in his letter.
He said the Tema Social Welfare has been informed and is participating in the conversation, and that after two weeks of trying to convince them, nothing has worked.
While he pursues action from appropriate authorities, he has pleaded with the Ghana Education Service (GES) to maintain Evans’ placement despite the difficulties.

I need your help here.
A brilliant boy called Evans has been placed in Presec, Legon. He is apparently one of the best in his JHS at Tema.
His JHS teachers have already shopped the boy’s prospectus, but failed to convince the mother to enroll him. Social welfare at Tema is aware and involved.
The mother will not enroll the boy because her new faith does not approve of education. Immediately you call to convince her, you receive a block. I am in touch with her on my other lines and with my other voices and names.
I hear she attends a church called “God’s Kingdom at Last”. I saw a handsome young man as the leader on facebook. I am struggling to establish contact with the church leader.
While i respect their faith, I believe i can have a conversation with the church leader and intercede for the boy. Someone here can also talk directly with the church leader for us.
Its been two weeks of persuasion. Let’s hope it works.
Compulsion through the law courts should be the last option. It can take forever to litigate on matters like this, as we want the boy in school early January, yet have no idea where he is being kept.
Any help?

REACTIONS FROM GHANAIANS
Stellah Esinu Alswel: The child’s right to education is being denied him. The mother should be arrested. Such a silly mentality!
Emmanuel K. Dogbevi:Religion as two-edged sword. Religious organizations build schools, and here another religious organization is denying a child education.
Marzuk Bin Nuur:Eii Africa!!! Anyway as you do your best to get the mother to succumb, never leave the pastor out. The mother’s mind is completely in the hands of the pastor. So, he should be grabbed. I now understand why President Paul Gagamy is controlling the religious environment at his end.
Osei Kwabena Danso:Get the church’s location, visit there on their time of service and arrest the pastor. The pastor should be made to convince the mother.
Hafiz Saeed:Religion is supposed to make us better people but unfortunately some people are overdoing this religion thing.
Article 28(4) of the Constitution is unambiguous. It reads “No child shall be deprived by any other person of medical treatment, education or any other social or economic benefit by reason only of religion or any other beliefs”.
