Canada Welcomes H-1B Workers With The New Open Work Permit

Do you fall in the H-1B visa? Are you a professional worker without a master’s degree and wants to move to Canada by 2024? Then, here is a new opportunity to move to Canada via the new open work  permit.

In this context, I will share with you the requirements for this H-1B visa, people who can apply or are eligible, the process, and many more.

Just recently, Canada announced a new pathway for foreign workers to move into the country with their families and children without a job offer.

This new open work permit will allow foreign workers to work and live in Canada for at least 3 years. Foreign workers immigrating to Canada via the new open work permit can bring along their children or spouse.

Foreign workers who fall under the H-1B visa can move to Canada with the new open work permit policy. Professionals can move without a job offer.

This offer is only available to residents in the United States (US). This new open work permit will allow US residents on the H-1B visa to move to Canada without a job offer.

Requirements To Apply For The New Open Work Permit

1. Have a valid and active passport
2. Have a valid and active H-1B visa
3. A photo of the H-1B visa stamp (can be found in your passport)
4. Proof of residence in the United States (US).
5. Most recent tax report
6. Most recent utility payment

How Can I Proceed To Apply For The New Open Work Permit? 

Follow the steps below to apply for the new open work permit in Canada;
2. You will be required to log in or register a new account
3. Read all the necessary requirements and make sure that you qualify for each.
4. Head to the ‘How to apply’ section and click.
5. Proceed to answer the follow-up questions after clicking the ‘How to apply’ section.
6. Make sure to fully complete all the steps, and upload all the required documents.
8. Proceed to pay the application fee
9. Submit the application after filling
10. Check your email to receive a confirmation on your submission

How Long Can I Stay In Canada With The New Open Work Permit?

You can stay in Canada for up to three years, and it’s also dependent on the expiry date on your passport as well. You cannot extend to stay but an only re-apply.
