Mr. Ibu Gets Medical Support From Nigerian Politician

Nollywood veteran actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has received a generous gesture (medical aid) from a Nigerian politician and former Senate president, Abubakar Bukola Saraki. Saraki, through his foundation, has covered all the medical bills of Mr. Ibu, who recently revealed that he was suffering from a leg condition that could lead to amputation.
Mr. Ibu, who is known for his comic roles in many Nollywood movies, had shared his plight on social media, attracting sympathy and criticism from his fans and colleagues.
Some people blamed the Nigerian Actors Guild for not being supportive of their own, while others accused Mr. Ibu of seeking attention and money.
However, Saraki’s foundation came to the rescue of Mr. Ibu and paid off his entire medical expenses as of Wednesday.
The foundation also expressed its honour and responsibility to assist Mr. Ibu, who they described as a “renowned comedic icon” who has brought joy and laughter to countless homes over the past four decades.
