National Daily Minimum Wage for 2021-2022 declared
A communique making rounds indicates that the National Tripartite Committee (NTC) has agreed on the National Daily Minimum Wage for 2021 and 2020 at a meeting held on 3rd June 2021.
The new minimum wage for 2021 takes effect on 4th June 2021, while that of 2022 is expected to commence on 1st January 2021.
Per the information on the said document, the (NTC) agreed on a new Daily Minimum Wage of GHS12.53 for 2021 which represents a 6% increase from the previous GHS11.82% for 2020.
The committee further agreed on GHS13.53 as the National Daily Minimum Wage for 2022 which would take effect next year. It represents an 8% upward adjustment of the 2021 agreed figure.

The National Tripartite Committee called on all businesses and employers to adjust their minimum daily wages to reflect the 2021 Daily Minimum Wage. Thus the minimum monthly wage in Ghana would be GHS320.00. It furthered that any institution or organization that acts contrary to the new minimum wage will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
