National Service 2026/27 First Batch Posting Out for 70,072 Personnel
The National Service Authority (NSA) has released the first batch of postings for 70,072 eligible National Service Personnel for the 2026/2027 service year.
The release, dated 30 September 2026, follows the completion of validation and registration processes for prospective personnel submitted for consideration for the new service year.
The National Service Authority has directed eligible personnel to access their individual postings through its official website and complete the required regional validation procedures.

The 70,072 personnel constitute the first batch of General Enrolment postings for the 2026/2027 National Service Year.
According to the Authority, a total of 149,907 prospective National Service Personnel were submitted through the registration process. Of that number, 95,689 were verified, while 95,197 successfully completed their registration.

The first batch of 70,072 postings has now been released following the applicable validation and deployment processes.
The Authority has asked eligible personnel to visit its website, access the portal and check their respective places of posting. Those who have been posted are expected to follow the stated procedures for regional validation.
Registration for National Service 2026/27 starts October 1
The NSA also announced that registration for the 2026/2027 National Service Year will begin on Thursday, 1 October 2026, and close on Thursday, 15 October 2026.
The notice further states that all National Service Personnel are expected to report to their respective departments, institutions and agencies from Monday, 5 October 2026 to begin their national service.
The reporting date therefore comes four days after the opening of the registration period and before the October 15 registration closing date stated by the Authority.

Private and international applicants can still register
The Authority said registration remains open for private applicants and international applicants.
Such applicants have been encouraged to complete their registration within the stipulated period so that the NSA can process their applications for national service.
The press release does not state a separate closing date for these categories beyond the October 15, 2026 end date given for registration.
October evaluation forms and allowance payments
The NSA has also provided information about the monthly evaluation process for personnel and user agencies in the Subvented Category.
According to the Authority, monthly evaluation forms will be made available on its portal from the 15th to the 20th of every month. The forms are to be completed and submitted as part of the requirements for allowance payment.
There is a special arrangement for October 2026. The Authority said the evaluation forms for that month will be available from 15 October to 25 October 2026.

NSA reminds graduates about the national service requirement

It referred to Section 29(1) of the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), which provides that a person qualifies to undertake national service if the person is a Ghanaian citizen who has completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution.
The Authority also drew attention to the consequences provided under Section 40 of the Act for qualified persons who fail to undertake national service.
Under the provision cited in the notice, an employer is not permitted to employ a person who is qualified to undertake national service but has not undertaken it, unless that person has been exempted under the relevant provision of the Act.
The Authority further stated that employers are required to establish whether a prospective employee is required to undertake national service and, where applicable, whether the person has completed the service or holds the relevant exemption documentation.
The notice also states that an employer who contravenes the provision may be liable to an administrative penalty of five thousand penalty units.
It further provides that the Authority may direct a person who obtains employment without undertaking national service to undertake service in a field determined by the Board.
The release also refers to restrictions concerning the registration of a company, partnership or business name by a person who is qualified to undertake national service but has not done so, unless the person is exempted under the Act.

What National Service personnel should do now
Personnel included in the first batch should access the NSA portal to check their postings and follow the stated procedures for regional validation.
Those expected to begin service should also take note of the Authority’s reporting date of Monday, 5 October 2026.
For personnel and user agencies in the Subvented Category, the evaluation requirements should also be observed because the Authority links completion and submission of the monthly evaluation forms to allowance payment.
The National Service Authority has encouraged prospective personnel to comply with the stated procedures and timelines to facilitate successful deployment and commencement of their national service.
