Mahama's plans to end double-track system excites parents New SHS1 Double Track Calendar

First Year Senior High School students, SHS1 will begin academic work on Monday 22nd March 2020 per the New SHS1 Double Track Calendar

The date for the start of academic work was delayed to help school authorities and parents prepare well ahead of the academic year.

Apart from the above, the following five (5) things should be expected.

First-year Free SHS students will run a Double Track system to help prevent and minimize the potential spread of COVID-19.

1. Green Track of the double track will vacate school in June for the 2020/2021 academic year’s semester 1.

2. Green track SHS1 students will reopen for the second semester on September 1, 2021.

3. Green Track SHS students will however vacate on 18th December 2021

 

New SHS1 Double Track Calendar – GOLD TRACK

New SHS1 Double Track Calendar

A. Gold Track Free SHS1 students will vacate in May 2021 for semester 1 of the 2020/2021 academic year

B. The Gold Track will report to school for the second semester on June 30th and end the semester on December 18, 2021.

C. No breaks or vacation for Gold Track students and teachers. Gold track semester one ends on 25th June and Semester 2 starts on 30th June 2021.

Other Vital Information about Gold and Green Track

In a related development, the Ghana Education Service has advised students to be serious with their academic pursuit amid the coronavirus pandemic and observe the laid down safety protocols.

The GES has also indicated that some schools will still run single tracks. Schools that are to run the double-track are aware however the said list is not yet public.
