The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the 2025/26 Harmonized Prospectus for SHS1 Boards and Day Students ahead of 18 October 2025 reopening date.
In all, four prospectuses were released. They are the Red, Orange and Green.
To ensure the items purchased for a student are not stolen or misplaced, the GES has recommended that all personal items for each student are embossed or embroidered with the student’s name.
The prospectuses are also further classified as those for boarding students and Day students.
List Of items In The SHS1 Harmonized Red, Orange and Green Prospectus
ACADEMIC YEAR NATIONAL HARMONIZED PROSPECTUS FOR BOARDERS
ITEMS FOR THE STUDENT
All boarding student are to buy the following for school.
– Hard Body Suit Case or Trunk
– Chop Box (Wooden/Plastic)
– Drinking Cup, 1 Plastic or Stainless
– Plate and a Set of Cutlery
– Toiletries (1 Deodorant, 1 pack T-roll, tooth paste, tooth brush)
– Soap, pomade and 2 packs of sanitary pads for girls)
– Decent Sandals (school specific) – No embellishment
– A Pair of Leather Slippers (school specific)
– Decent Sneakers (black or white)
– 2 Pair of Socks (school specific)
– 1 Pyjamas/sleep wear
– Under wear (5 pants and 3 vests for girls, 3 boxer shorts or pants & 3 Singlets for boys)
– 1 Plastic Bucket with Cover and Pail
– RSV/NIV Bible/Quran and Hymn Book for Christians (School Specific)
– Pillow covered with Mackintosh
– 2 Students’ bedsheets with 2 pillowcases– Plain white
– 1 Blanket & Sleeping cloth
– A Pair of Khaki Trousers
– A Pair of White Trousers (or school specific)
– White dress for ladies
– 2 White Shirts (1 short sleeve and 1 long sleeve)
– Student’s Size Mosquito Net
Day Students Prospectus
– 1 School Bag
– 1 Mathematical Set & Scientific Calculator
– 2 Checked Dresses (where applicable)
– Student Mattress (where not available in the school)
– Shoe (school-specific colour)
– Belt (school-specific colour)
– 1 Hoe/Cutlass

In addition to the above, each student is expected to buy one of the following sets of items. Parents Are Expected To Buy A Group Of Items From The List Below.
The list of items to be bought will be dependent on if the student was assigned a green, red or orange prospectus.
Wards with the Red Prospectus Will Be Required To Buy the Following Items

ORANGE PROSPECTUS: Parents whose wards have the Orange Prospectus will be required to buy the following items:
- Mathematical Set and Scientific Calculator
- Decent Sandals (School Specific – No Embellishment)

GREEN PROSPECTUS: Parents Whose Wards Have the Red Prospectus Will Be Required To Buy The Following Items

Parents and guardians are expected to buy all the listed items on their respective New SHS1 Harmonized Prospectus released to be presented to their respective schools on the day students report to school. The GES has already announced that students will report to school from 18th October to 20th October for the start of the 2025/2026 academic year.
