In a recent development, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has made a critical change in accordance with the vacation and reopening dates for all final year students attending Single Track schools the nation over. New Vacation And Reopening Dates Of SHS3 Single Track Students
The GES plans to guarantee sufficient planning time for these students as they reach a crucial stage in their academic journey.
Initially booked to vacate on March 5, 2024, final year students in Single Track schools will presently stay in school until the 28th of March, 2024, before breaking for the semester. This extention awards them extra opportunity to review their coursework, take part in revision exercises, and satisfactorily get ready for the impending West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Following their lengthy vacation, these final year students are supposed to get back to school on the 17th of April, 2024. This change brings about a decrease in the first number of vacation days, moving from the recently planned May 2, 2024, reopening date for the second semester.
It is fundamental for note that this order only applies to final year students in Single Track schools. Form 1 and 2 students in these schools will stick to their unique academic calendar, without any changes made to their vacation and reopening dates.
For Form 2 students, the vacation stays set for March 5, 2024, with a reopening date of May 2, 2024. Also, Form 1 students will break for vacation on March 15, 2024, and continue classes May 2, 2024.
