New: WAEC extends 2022 BECE results release date, gives new date
2022 BECE candidates waiting for their results will have to wait longer as WAEC extends the 2022 BECE results release date and provides a new possible date.
According to the latest information picked up by GhanaEducation.org from the AcademicWeek.com news portal, “The waiting duration for the West African Examinations Council to release the 2022 BECE results has been extended from the usual 45 or 60 days to 75 days amid Covid-19, an official of WAEC told AcademicWeek.com in a discussion.”
What this means is the 2022 BECE results will not be released before the end of 2022. Ahead of this information, GhanaEducation.org projected that the results release date fell on December 25th and that WAEC was going to release the results either earlier before the festive season, or in January 2023.
Technically, it will be inappropriate for WAEC to release the results just after Christmas. Hence, we further project that the results will be out in early January 2023.
Seventy-five days from 21 October 2022, without counting manually day over day will be 4 January 2023. Hence, the BECE results should be released between the 3rd and 16th of January 2023.

When the school placements are released, candidates will either be placed in a school or be asked to do the infamous self-placement or they may not get the chance to attend SHS at all. The last option may happen if the candidate obtains grade 9 in Mathematics or Integrated Science.
