The management of the National Service Secretariat (NSS) has finally paid the delayed personnel allowance for November and December 2023.
The Secretariat delayed paying the allowances of the personnel for between four and three months.
It stated that as of Wednesday, March 13, 2024, it had resolved the outstanding arrears in a statement that the secretariat released and that Ghana Education News saw.
It added that only personnel who have filled out, endorsed, and submitted their assessment forms for November and December 2023 and have also completed the required biometric verification at their respective NSS district offices can access the paid delayed allowances.
It further stated that for the personnel to access the allowances paid, they are to use their E-Zwich at their preferred banks from Friday, March 15, 2024.
What this means is that if the respective banks do not credit the accounts of the personnel by the 15th of March, they will not be able to access the funds until Monday, March 18th.
The management of the service said it understands the challenges personnel went through as a result of the delays in the payment of the allowances and that it has taken steps to ensure it pays January and February arrears.
While expressing regret for the delays in processing the allowances, it commended the personnel for their unwavering dedication to duty.

It also expressed its gratitude to all the national service personnel for their patience and cooperation during these challenging times.
The NSS assured it would ensure subsequent monthly allowances were paid on time.
However, the NSS’s announcement made no mention of the anticipated day on which employees should expect their January and February allowances, which are at least a month late.
