It is still too early to say who is likely to win the 2024 general election in Ghana. The election is still 16 months away, and a lot can happen between now and then. However, based on the current political climate, it is possible to make some educated guesses.
The incumbent president, Nana Akufo-Addo, is yet to elect a presidential candidate and many are of the view that either Vice President Bawumia or Alan Kyeremanteng stands a better chance of leading the partying into the election. These two are popular figures and one is likely to be the frontrunner in the election. However, whoever is elected by the party will also be facing some challenges, including the rising cost of living and the recent economic downturn.
The main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has elected former President John Mahama as its candidate for the election. However, the former president, John Mahama, is widely seen as the frontrunner for the NDC nomination. Mahama is a popular figure, and he is likely to be a strong challenger to whichever candidate the NPP elects.
The other parties in Ghana are also likely to field candidates in the election. However, they are unlikely to pose a serious challenge to the NPP or the NDC.
Ultimately, the outcome of the 2024 general election will depend on a number of factors, including the state of the economy, the performance of the incumbent government, and the campaigns of the individual candidates. However, based on the current political climate, it is possible that the election will be a close race between the NPP and the NDC.

Here are some of the factors that could affect the outcome of the election:
- The state of the economy: If the economy is doing well, it will be an advantage for the incumbent government. However, if the economy is doing poorly, it will be an advantage for the opposition.
- The performance of the incumbent government: If the government is seen as being corrupt or ineffective, it will be an advantage for the opposition. However, if the government is seen as being competent and honest, it will be an advantage for the incumbent.
- The campaigns of the individual candidates: The candidates who run the best campaigns will be more likely to win. This includes having a clear message, connecting with voters, and raising enough money.
It is also worth noting that the 2024 election could be affected by external factors, such as the political situation in neighboring countries or the global economy.
