Emerson Palmieri, an Italian defender, said of Gavi after Spain beat Italy in the semi-finals of the 2021 Nations League Finals that the player “has huge potential.”

Pablo Martin Páez Gavira, also known as Gavi, is a professional footballer from Spain. He was born on August 5, 2004, and plays as a midfielder for Barcelona and the Spain national team.
Club career

Gavi was born in Los Palacios y Villafranca, Andalusia. He started playing soccer at a club in his hometown called Liara Balompié and then moved on to the youth program at Real Betis.
Gavi was scouted by Villarreal, Real Madrid, and Atlético Madrid after he scored 95 goals for the Real Betis youth team.
The career of the Barcelona Youth
In 2015, when he was 11 years old, he joined FC Barcelona. In September 2020, he signed his first professional contract with the Catalan club and went straight from the under-16 team to the under-19 team.
After Gavi did well with Barcelona’s youth team, manager Ronald Koeman put him on the first team’s preseason squad for the 2021–22 season.
Gavi was moved up to the first team for preseason friendlies after playing twice for the Barcelona B team in the 2020–21 season.
After doing well in wins against Gimnàstic de Tarragona and Girona, it was said that Gavi had pushed Riqui Puig out of Koeman’s plans for his team.
He kept up this good run of form in a 3–0 win over the German team VfB Stuttgart, which made people compare him to the great Barcelona player Xavi.
On August 29, 2021, he replaced Sergi Roberto in the 73rd minute of Barcelona’s 2–1 win over Getafe, which was his first game with the first team.
