Pay teachers well, stop the allowance deception – Kofi Akpaloo tells Nana Addo
As #FixTheCountry trends, Mr. Kofi Akpaloo, the leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) has called on Nana Addo to pay Ghanaian teachers well.
He has indicated that it is time for the Nana Akufo-Addo led government to consider increasing the salary of Ghanaian teachers and stop deciding them with allowances.
He made the comments whiles speaking in an interview on Kingdom 107.7 FM. The outspoken politician argued that teachers continue working conditions are not good and never getting better coupled with the low salaries they receive.
Mr. Akpaloo said the claims made by the government that it has improved teacher welfare is mere lip service.
He called on the government to stop the act and rather help teachers deal with the poor conditions of service they face.
Some have to “walk several kilometers to school because they have no means of transport”, The politician disclosed to Reynold Agyemang, the ‘Pae Mu Ka’ show host on the Accra-based radio station.

In a related development, the GES has called on teachers to disregard a letter indicating they can serve the Ghana Statistical Service to help carry out the 2021 population census.
