The Technical Working Group set up to overseer the conduct of the National Standardised Test (NST) has announced the price to be paid by primary 2 and 4 private school students to participate in the 2022 edition of the national test.

In a press release copied to AcademicWeek, GNACOPS said an amount of GHC34.00 and GHC38.00 have been approved as 2022 National Standardised costs to be paid by primary two and four private school students respectively.
Payment for the Standardised Test, the Ghana National Council of Private Schools in the statement noted will be paid through a designated NaCCA account ahead of the national examination slated to be administered late this year.
“All children shall be given an index number based on the unique EMIS code generated from the date submitted. The schools that have not submitted their EMIS DATA 2022 are advised to do so immediately,” the Council stated.
According to the Private Schools Council, a total of 35,000 Test Administrators are expected to be engaged by NaCCA from public and private schools across the country for the conduct of the impending 2022 National Standardised exam.
“The Test will be conducted largely in schools except in hard-to-reach areas which would be brought to a convenient centre. All schools are to treat this information with the needed urgency because of the brevity of time,” It noted.
Scheduled to end on September 27, 2022, the Ministry of Education (MoE) in charge of the conduct of the examination has said the 2022 edition of the private schools’ National Standardised Test (NST) registration will strictly be online.
The National Standardised examination, Minister for Education, Dr Adutwum has said is to drastically reduce learning poverty he says has amid the outbreak of the global Covid pandemic increased among students in the country.
“The test is to evaluate the primary 4 students on whether they can read or not and this will also help the central government to see the challenges that are confronting the country’s education sector,” Adutwum told stakeholders.

According to him, results of the national test in mathematics and literacy will be given to every single parent to monitor the progress of their wards. The provisional results he said will be available on a website for public access.
