Sack Ken Ofori-Atta Now Or We Will Demonstrate Massively – Fresh Pressure Mounts On Akufo Addo
The Automobile Dealers Union (ADUG) has asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to fire Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as soon as possible.
They said that this was because the minister had done a “terrible job” of running Ghana’s economy.
The Union says that the Ghana cedi’s quick drop in value hurts their working capital, which in turn hurts their general way of life.
A press release from October 31, 2022, said, “The effects of exchange rates are really bad for businesses, and all our investments are going down the drain.”

The union also said that if their demand was not met, they would start a “huge” protest on November 19, 2022.
The release, which was signed by the General Secretary of the Union, Benjamin Owusu Yankey, said, “However, we are giving the President two weeks to release Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta from his position as the Finance Minister of the Republic of Ghana, or we will hold a huge demonstration against him (H. E. Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo) on November 19, 2022, at 8:00 am at Obra Spot, Kwame Nkrumah Circle
ADUG has also asked other trade unions to join them in asking the government to do these things
“We are calling on all worried importers and traders whose businesses have been hurt by the high exchange rates (US Dollar) because of the Finance Minister’s bad policy decisions to join us in a protest against the President for not firing the Finance Minister,” they said.
