School Feeding Programme: 3.5M pupils eat free meals every day
Statistics show that 3.5 million pupils eat free meals in school every day under the School Feeding Programme of the government. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the leadership of the School Feeding Programme ahead of school reopening.

The programme which is a Ghana-UN sustainable development goals programme on hunger and extreme poverty has been running for many years now.
When the 3rd term starts day September 7th 2021, a total of 3,448,065 pupils will benefit from the programme each day.

It ensures that learners in beneficiary schools eat at least one hot meal a day at school. The leadership of the Ghana School Feeding Programme called on all caterers to give off their best from 7th September when they serve the first meal for the term across the 16 regions.

It further congratulated the caterers for their hard work, enduring spirit, patience and dedication toward the work they do. Since the introduction of the free meals in schools every day under the School Feeding Programme, enrollment at the basic school has increased exponentially nationwide.
