The images of the 8 heroes of Ghana who were killed in the military helicopter crash on 6th August, 2025 has surfaced on the interent. The sad event has moved the state into a state of murning. They died in the line of duty in an effort to contribute to safe and responsible mining in Ghana.
The tragic military helicopter crash occured in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region. Images from the accident only showed charred remains of several victims. Sadly, they were burnt beyond recognition.
According to initial reports, the high-ranking government officials were aboard a Ghana Armed Forces Z-9 helicopter en route to Obuasi when the aircraft went off radar.

The list was confirmed by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, who described the incident as a national tragedy.
In response, he has directed that all national flags be flown at half-mast in honour of the deceased. Further details are expected as investigations continue into the cause of the crash.
In a brief statement, the Ghana Armed Forces confirmed that efforts were underway to trace and assess the wreckage of the helicopter after it lost contact shortly after takeoff on Wednesday morning. The cause of the crash remains unknown, and authorities have yet to confirm further details.

This incident comes more than a year after a previous helicopter accident on March 19, 2024, when a military aircraft crash-landed near Bonsukrom in the Western Region. Fortunately, that earlier crash resulted in no fatalities.
