Shocking Revelations: ECG Boss Faces Deadly Threats to His Family
“My Family ‘s Safety Is in Danger Because of My Job” – ECG Boss Samuel Dubik Mahama Expresses Concern
Samuel Dubik Mahama, the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has recently opened up about the personal toll his high-profile role has taken, particularly on his family ‘s safety.
In a candid interview on JoyNews’ PM Express, Mahama detailed the challenges and threats that have emerged since he took on the mantle of leadership at one of the country’s most crucial public service institutions.
The responsibility of ensuring uninterrupted power supply to millions of Ghanaians is no small feat, and the burden it places on those in charge can be immense.
For Mahama, this has translated into a very real concern for his and his family ‘s well-being.
“Doing this job is not the easiest thing,” Mahama confessed, revealing that threats to his life have become a worrying aspect of his tenure at ECG. “Your life is being threatened, and to put the lives of your children and family in limbo is not fair.”
These threats, according to Mahama, are often fueled by misinformation and false accusations aimed at him or the operations of the ECG.
In a time where public scrutiny is high, especially with ongoing power stability issues, Mahama pleaded for a more fact-based approach to criticism.
“We’re getting to a point in this country where waking up in the morning and brandishing things that are not true is the order of the day, and that is not fair,” he lamented.
The ECG MD also touched on the subject of responsible reporting and discourse among the populace, underscoring the need for accuracy before levelling allegations.

“It is always when people are complaining that somebody has taken an amount of money or something has been moved, it is not fair. Get the facts right,”
Mahama stressed, pointing out the adverse effects that baseless accusations can have not just on individuals but also on their families.
Mahama’s frustration is set against the backdrop of recent power outages that have reignited the debate over the provision of a ‘dumsor’ timetable and the general performance of the ECG.
Despite these challenges, he reassured the public that the issues leading to the recent power interruptions have been thoroughly addressed.
Mahama is optimistic that the intermittent power cuts that have frustrated many Ghanaians will soon be a thing of the past.
As the conversation around public service, accountability, and personal safety continues, Mahama’s revelations offer a poignant reminder of the human element behind public office.
It underscores the need for a balanced and empathetic approach in public discourse, recognizing the personal sacrifices made by individuals like Mahama in their mission to serve the nation.
