SHS 1 Students In Double Track Schools To Reopen Next Week

SHS 1 students in double track schools in Ghana will reopen next week, Monday, 25th September, 2023. This comes after the Ghana Education Service rescheduled the date from Monday, 18th September, 2023 to Monday, 25th September, 2023.

The reason for this new date is to let the SHS 3 Students, who are currently writing their WASSCE finish their papers before letting the SHS 1 students in school.

Statement from the Ghana Education Service

Management of the Ghana Education Service wishes to inform all Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools that the reopening date for Form One students has been rescheduled to 25th September, 2023. By this letter, Regional Directors of Education are requested to communicate this information to all Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools to inform parents/guardians and
students to take note of the new date and prepare according.

VACATION DATE FOR SHS 1 STUDENTS IN DOUBLE TRACK SCHOOLS

SHS 1 students in double track schools will be going on vacation on Thursday, 30th November, 2023. A total of 9 weeks and 3 days will be spent in that period. The next academic calendar for senior high schools in Ghana will begin in January, 2024.

WHAT ABOUT SHS(Single Track)
Senior High Schools that run in single track are currently on break. The academic calendar ended on 15th September, 2023.

The 2022/2023 academic year started on 10th January, 2023 for senior high schools. Due to the double track system in some schools in Ghana, not all schools were able to end their academic calendar on 15th September, 2023. The SHS academic year will end in November. It is expected that the next academic year will begin in January, next year.

WHAT ABOUT BASIC SCHOOLS

Basic schools have successfully need their 2022/2023 academic year. The 2023/2024 academic year will begin on 3rd October, 2023.
