Just hours away from what political observers have predicted to be one of the most hotly contested elections in the history of Nigeria’s checkered democracy, a source has recently released the election polls ahead of the rapidly approaching official election.
The latest of these polls comes from STEARS, Nigeria’s current election results provider. Conducted in February 2023, the poll predicts the next leader of Nigeria if voter turnout is high.
According to the STEARS poll, Peter Obi, the official candidate of the Labour Party (LP), is poised to win the 2023 general election ahead of Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The poll is based on a sample of likely voters and takes into account various factors such as voting patterns, political alliances, and candidate reputation.
While the poll results may come as a surprise to many, it is important to note that anything can happen between now and then. Nevertheless, it provides some interesting insights into the state of Nigerian politics and the preferences of the voting public.
