Let’s Fix St. Nicholas R/C Primary, the school without a single desk (Video)

The habitual neglect of schools in the hinterlands of Ghana leaves much to be desired. It is not uncommon to have a whole school like St. Nicholas R/C Primary school have little or absolutely no furniture for school children to sit on. The population of the school stands at 220. The school children do not have the luxury of sitting on desks during contact hours.
Schools in villages have no classrooms and have poor infrastructure. Some have not furniture either.
These and many challenges confront teachers and learners of St. Nicholas R/C Primary school located in the Lakpala Tatale-Sanguli District.
Hence the launch of the one-child-one-desk campaign to help provide desks for learners in the School
The current situation where children have to sit on the floor or on their bellies to be able to write or learn cannot continue. Help The People’s Hope Foundation fix the mess.
While we call on the government to help fix the education system, the People’s Hope Foundation in partnership with the National Consortium for Voluntary Organizations is championing the raising of funds to support the St. Nicholas R/C Primary school.
It is therefore calling on individuals, religious bodies, businesses, philanthropists, CSO, and NGOs to help support this programme dubbed one child one desk.
The Fundraising Ambassador, Ms. Huberta Senyo, and her team of volunteers believe that, the dream of the school children of ever having a safe school environment, furnished with desks for pupils and teachers can be realized if all well-meaning Ghanaians including you support this noble course with a little donation or support of any kind needed to give learners and teachers hope.
Let’s #FixStNicholasR/Cprimary, the school that can’t boast of a single desk for learners.
Education is the future of every nation and Ghana’s future leaders across industries are all caught up in the current poor school outlook.
Ghana’s future president in the next 40 years, doctors, lawyers, farmers, nurses, teachers are the children in the school.
The current unsafe school environment they learn in, the poor infrastructure, and lack of support today can destroy the best Ghana can harness from these children and their education.
