Tarkwa: Five dies after attempting to mine in restricted area

These individuals were employees of Tarkwa Community Mining, who, along with four others, ventured into a prohibited mining area, leading to dire consequences.

The public relations officer of the mining company, Kwodwo Safo, expressed profound sadness and regret over the incident. He disclosed, “It is quite unfortunate that nine of our workers went there for this unfortunate event to happen.” Within this group of nine individuals, five tragically lost their lives, while the remaining four sustained injuries and were promptly rushed to the nearest hospital for immediate medical attention.
